One-on-One Support

Support for Patients:

VisitationCancer Connection volunteers know how it feels to hear the words “You Have Cancer”. In an instant, one’s life is changed forever. We understand the fear and anxiety that often accompany a cancer diagnosis and are here to offer support, encouragement, and hope to others who are now facing cancer.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer and would like to talk with someone who has experienced a similar diagnosis, Cancer Connection can match you with a trained volunteer.

To learn more about our one-on-one matching program or to request a match with a Cancer Connection volunteer, please contact Linda Richards, at 512-459-5883 or linda@thecarecommunities.org.

Support for Family Members:

Cancer Connection knows that the entire family is affected by a loved one’s cancer diagnosis. While the focus of care rests on the “patient”, family members also experience feelings of fear, confusion and helplessness.

If you have a loved one who has been diagnosed with cancer and you need someone to talk to, Cancer Connection can match you with a trained volunteer who has also cared for a loved one during a cancer experience.
