Volunteer Now

To become a Connection volunteer, you should be either a survivor of cancer or one who experienced cancer by caring for a family member. In either circumstance your experience should be a minimum of six months past active cancer treatment in order to qualify to take our volunteer training course.

Cancer Connection volunteers attend an intensive 10-hour training program designed to prepare volunteers to help their care receivers cope with the physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual aspects of their cancer experience. During this training, volunteers share their own experiences with other cancer survivors and family members. They sharpen their listening skills through role-playing to help others talk about their experiences. Volunteers also learn about both local and national resources available to those dealing with cancer. The training is interactive and led by Cancer Connection's professional staff. Other training leaders include oncology nurses, oncologists, clergy, and experienced volunteers.
Future training dates:

 June 13 - 14, 2008

August 8 - 9, 2008

October 3 - 4, 2008

If you feel you qualify, please apply now using the online form.
